Xerox printer driver error 018:000:0298

I followed the steps but still I get a error message and my printer will not print.

I follow the steps for my printer but it still has an error code. I dont know what to do to get my printer to function properly.

Are you certain that is the same fault you are getting? Because the one for a failed install is usually Operation failed with error 0x000003eb

You should not be getting a failure from a driver that doesn't exist (018:), you should be getting an OS driver installation failure (0x0)

I am getting this error on the printer installation for any typw of xerox printer.

My HP printers install with no problems, but the Xerox printers will not install and post the above error.

I dont' get this far to follow the proposed solution above. The Printer never installs so I cannot do printer properties.

Go into the Windows Control Panel and select Devices and Printers

Right-click the printer and choose Printer Properties

Select the Advanced tab and remove the checkmark for enable advanced printing features (You won't lose any features)

Click Apply and then go to the Ports tab.

Select Configure Port and make sure the 2 boxes at the bottom are not highlighted.

Screenshot one should fix your issue (And it applies to any printer with Office365 issues, not just Xerox, usually what you are seeing happens with any printer that is set as the default printer)

The steps that go with Screenshot 2 just make everything faster/better and more reliable so they may as well be done while you are in there already, those steps apply to Xerox devices and may or may not be applicable to other brands.

hi there - keep struggling to print from O365, and get the error message - An unexpected error occurred in the print driver.  Close the current driver window and retry the operation. )18:000:0298 - I've tried to find this error message number online to see what is the repeated cause - anyone got any ideas?  cheers
