Hi dr234,
At this point if no one else comes up with something, you will need to contact support and see if you can speak with someone in 2nd level. I have no other suggestions.
The medical software does not allow specifying paper color or type for different forms. All 3 forms are 8.5x11 so the Xerox pulls from the default tray if allowed to auto-select. Bi-directional communication is disabled because it causes issues with the software (it's a windows issue, every version).
Hi dr234,
If you are loading the paper and specifying the correct type, color and size of paper then it should go to the correct tray when the documents are defined with the correct paper. For instance if the form is to print on yellow and letter and that is what is loaded and defined in tray 2 then it should print the form from tray 2. Please make sure your settings are correct by following the soution for adding paper. If this does not help please contact your support centre for further assistance.
It's a Workcentre 4250 with 4 trays. Saving the settings in the print driver and selecting from the drop-down as what we currently are doing, but it's very time consuming because each time a patient comes in I have to run through the entire print dialog and select from the dropdown 3 times to print 3 different forms. The program allows setting default printers for each type of form which bypasses the dialog and prints quickly, but it still pulls from the default tray set in windows.
When a backup HP printer was on the network the program had no trouble selecting the right printer assigned as the form's default, so if it's possible to assign multiple IP addresses to the Workcentre that should work. Is that possible?
Hi dr234,
Thank you for using the Support Forum. Which WorkCentre are you using? You may have the capability of saving different printer settings that could work with your process. You would set up the settings in the driver that you need and then save them you can then select them from a drop down list in the driver properties. If this does not sound like a workable option please provide the model of the machine or consider contacting your support centre for further assistance.
Need a work-around to get a tempermental medical software to print different "reports" (ie insurance form, preprinted daysheet, plain paper reciepts) by pulling from the paper tray where the form is loaded. Bi-directional support MUST be disabled. Letting the print driver auto select the tray does not work because the program does not allow customizing the paper type for reports. For example I can't specify that daysheets require "blue" paper and tell the workcentre tray 3 has blue paper so it is automatically selected. The program does allow setting a default printer for each report type, so I need a way to create a "fake" Workcentre for each tray.
Currently I duplicated the Workcentre by adding the network printer thru windows 7 using PCL driver. The printer is 192.168.0.100 on the network so for tray 2 there's a copy called "Insurance" using port 192.168.0.100_2. Each time I print an insurance form I have to waste time on the printer dialog manually selecting "Insurance" because the duplicates aren't distinct enough to trick the program. How can I set this up?
