Re: envelope question

Jump to solution

Thanks for the links Cheryl . I was printing from Microsoft Word and had the orientation set there and did not realize the print driver has to be set as well-it seems obvious that an envelope would be landscape and not portrait.

The document on "Label and Envelopes Misfeeds" mentioned "Note: When you load envelopes long-edge feed, ensure that you specify landscape orientation in the print driver." that helped when using the V4 driver (seems there are multiple drivers for the Phaser 6510) When I use the V3 driver, the orientation choice tab is greyed out. Can I assume that choice defaults to the orientation choice made within the application I am printing from?

One of these days someone will come up with a way to override all settings from one place - perhaps the print driver and whatever that is set for would be it. As it is now, we have settings from the printing application, the control panel on the printer, the web based server, and printer properties. Nevertheless, the 6510 is the ultimate for me in terms of the print quality and the flexibilty of having 2 trays (in my case Tray 1 for #10 envelopes and the Bypass Tray for 8.5 X 11 letterhead.) And when I do switch stock in the bypass tray the 6510 senses the change and will print it once I hit "OK" on the control panel without changing any other settings-that is so cool!

And one other suggestion: the web based server is already great but how about including more settings there? Any setting on the printer's control panel could be on the server to enhance access and make changes.

envelope question

Jump to solution
Product Name: Phaser 6510
Operating System: Windows 10 x64

the 6510 has 2 trays and i can load multiple envelopes and print from tray 1. But in the bypass tray, the printer seems to try to load them all at once and jams but will print if i feed the stock in 1 at a time. (I think I have all the settings right: #10 envelope for size, envelope for type and white for the color, landscape orientation, etc.) FYI, 8.5 X 11 prints fine from both trays when loaded with single or multiple sheets. Suggestions? thanks.
