Re: error 7800

Since you have the same fault, the same answer applies. Either the fuser is bad, or something electrical feeding the fuser, which means either replace the fuser, get a Xerox tech, or diagnose the issue with a multimeter, which is not an option for a high percentage of the population.

Re: error 7800

It's a fuser failure error, you need a service tech or to replace it, it is not cheap part through Xerox.

I would likely go the service route, as the fuser fault may be caused by something else, if the power in the machine is not feeding the fuser the proper voltage you could in theory get this error for instance.

Re: error 7800

That only happens from supplies the first time you replace them.

All of the printers are in a neutral state at purchase. The first time you replace a consumable it becomes locked to that setup, so Region vs metered vs Sold etc are all decided on the first consumable.

Once you are locked to one, you need to pay to have it changed.

Re: error 7800

Good afternoon. I'm writing from Venezuela. I own a Xerox Phaser 7800 DN printer. I bought a SD card and apparently it changed its region configuration, is this possible? The printer won't recognize some consumables so it has stop working, how can I solve this?

Re: error 7800

So it now shows 4 paper trays (GX) in the driver and UI but in fact only has 1 (DN) ?

I could easily see the reverse happening by the contacts on the bottom of the printer losing contact for any reason to the tray unit on the bottom that makes it a GX, but I can't see it happening where it thinks trays magically appeared.

In any case, try updating the firmware to the latest from here

(This is not the version listed in downloads on Xerox.com, it is the version you would obtain by calling Xerox and speaking to 2nd level software support, it is 3.5 years newer)

error 7800

Product Name: Other - specify product in post
I'm from Venezuela and I'm writing because I've recently bought a 7800 DN printer... After a few weeks it started to show an error and apparently switched to a GX instead of a DN, is this possible? Why is this happening? It also can't recognize the fuser or the drum.

I've tried to load the software from an usb drive but it won't respond...

I would really appreciate your quick help in this matter since I have almost 4 months without been able to use the printer...

Thank you so much,

Best regards...
