error message won't resolve and is effecting printing

Product Name: WorkCentre 3335/3345
Operating System: Windows 10

We keep getting the error "03-410 Tray 1 is not configured with the proper media resources for the current job. User intervention is required to resolve the media resource conflict. Printing has stopped, all other services(if installed) are unaffected."  On the printer it says the paper in tray one does not match the drivers. Everything is set to 8.5x11 for size. And no one has messed with the settings. When I called tech support the rep advised us to update the firmware but the update won't go through becuase of this error. I've tried adjusting the paper tray size to a different size and back and we tried unplugging the machine over the weekend but nothing gets rid of the error. It will sometimes still print with the error but not always. Please help!
