Which browser are you using? Go to Printing Preferences... ... (Go to Printers and Faxes->Right click on Adobe PDF Printer->Printing Preferences...) and uncheck the check box 'Rely on System Fonts only; do not use document fonts".
have you tried opening the files in Apple Preview, instead of Acrobat Reader? For me solves most of the PDF cases.
Hi Gbacso
Sorry, I forgot to clarify - the problem originated for me in apple preview and i had to go out of my way to install Adobe Acrobat. It's incredibly frustrating as I like the ease of Apple Preview to quickly print off documents, so having to go through Acrobat and print as an image is just so dumb! It wasted so much paper printing off these inane webding symbols, the most infuriating being the smiley face hahaha
I have just bought a Xerox B210 printer with a student grant for studying from home during covid and you're seriously telling anyone with this issue that there isn't an actual solution besides printing as an image (which isn't an option in apple preview)? I bought this printer as I have a Specific Learning Difficulty that means I require printed copies of PDFs... I geniunely have lost all respect for Xerox as a company if they just dont care that 90% of PDFs (as others have pointed out, an industry standard) print out as garbage by default. :(
I agree, I find it unacceptable to have problems printing pdf docs. We're talking about an industry standard. Please provide a permanent solution, not a workaround. Also, on Mac, there's no such option as "print as image",
Hello gbacso,
I searched our online knowledgebase, and the only solution is to print as image when printing PDF which you are already doing. Also on page 149 of the User Guide, it explains that an incompatibility between the PDF file
and the Acrobat products is what may cause this issue.
You could also try uninstalling and reinstalling the Xerox Print Driver.
I'm trying to print a PDF from Adobe Acrobat Reader and just get gibberish (while on screen all is ok).
Config: Xerox B210, wireless printing (wired had issues). Firmware upgraded to latest. Primarily from Mac (OsX 10.5, and OsX 10.3 same), but also tried with same result from Windows 10.
If I open the same file in Apple Preview app, and print from there, all works fine. Also, print as image from Acrobat Reader works.
Tried with multiple PDF files, same thing. Also with "official" pdf files from Xerox and Adobe homepage, still same...
Can you help how can this be resolved properly? I'd primarily still like to use Acrobat Reader for PDF files.
thanks!
Gergely
