Hi KmiZi,
thanks very much for the info you sent..
i was able to locate the required settings as you suggested ;-)
just noting here that, one would to set the required user-name,
and save it together with other settings as a "Preset"..
from then on, choose the preset, when printing and all is well..
one _last_ question: is there an easy way to change the
margins (from the edge of the paper) and for specifying
fonts (and font weights) ?
thanks very much again!

Heya!
If you know what you're doing you could actually have a wee look in the printers ppd file, just remember to back it up first :)
And also xerox features for the printer is located in the print window instead of options, just so you know.
So in program -> file -> print -> xerox features under orientation.
Hope this helps.
Thanks!

hi KimZi,
i found that if i type pass the -U option to lp at the command
line, i can get the file to print (albeit that some formatting is lost)..
eg:
$ lp -U user1 file1.pdf
where user1 is the accepted config'ed user on the printer.
so, if if we can find a way to get CUPS to pass this to lp...
(by modifyinf some config files, then we're almost done --
the macos options dialog shows a lot less options then
the wndows version) ...
cheers, and thanks again!

hi KimZi,
thanks for your reply ...
in my webpage for cups, administration shows:
printers: add printer, find new printer, manage printer.
after clicking the manage printer button, the "printer"
page (with the print queue is shown).
clicking on the queue link, i see "maintainance" and
the "set default option" ...
but there in no "Advanced" option, to do the customizations
you mention ...
assuming the web interface are setting config options
for cups, which then send commands using lp...
is there a way to edit the config files with the right
options, which then causes the jobs to be sent
using lp correctly ?
thanks very much!

Heya!
This is a bit tricky on the MAC, firstly you will need to go into CUPS -> Administration -> Modify printer -> choose correct printer and under "Administration" -> Set default options -> Advanced.
Here you can change Accounting, prompt and so forth.
Thanks!

hi All,
in the office, we have Xerox DocuCenter 900 printer.
i'm using macosx 10.8.2.
i've added the printer and its driver successfully.
however, i also need to add "Job Owner Name" before
i can print to the printer.
on windows, i can set that from the:
printer properties -> Configuration -> Detailed User Settings.
how do i do the same on macosx ?
please help,
thanks very much in advance,
sam
