Re: invalid accounting ID - linux

cd should be enough. Use sudo. This is just to give the user permissions to xhost...

if this works than you can create script and add it to start up to make it permanent.

EDIT > Actually I am thinking the command might be different for Fedora... I will do a bit of browsing on this topic..  But I only have Ubuntu...

Even if I do have a similiar intermittent problem even with Ubuntu.. with this Model. If so I think this might require more time to investigate... you might have to open a ticket with support so that it can be sent to development..

Re: invalid accounting ID - linux

Hi,

correct. But when you go File > Print ans send the print job from the application does a xerox printer manager opens? Or the job is send directy to the printer without opening any plugins or windows?

Re: invalid accounting ID - linux

Hi Ruic,

thanks for getting back to me,

once i installed the driver i opened up the xerox printer manager like so -

Queue name – call it whatever

Printer model – Xerox colorQube 8900S

Connection type – tcp/ip (workstation to printer)

Ip/dns – type in the ip

Tick the box – make this my default printer

Once installed I open up “queue Preferences” click on the “Configuration “ tab click “Accounting”

Accounting system – Xerox standard accounting or auditron

Default User id – typed in a user id I defined on the printer

Default account type - Default group account (I set up a default account id on the printer)

When I come to print a job it prints a error message –

Xerox colorqube 8900S

Error notice

Owner – unknown

Document - /var/spool/cups/d00002-001

Printer – fpbasement

Date – 03/04/13

The job was deleted due to invalid accounting id

Re: invalid accounting ID - linux

Robertw,

Did you manage to install the package and configure the Xerox Printer Manager?

When you send a print job does the Xerox manager plugin pops-up?

Re: invalid accounting ID - linux

Hi robertw,

Unfortunately I didnt have time yet to look at it. As you know the forums depend on availability from community. If this issue is really urgent and you need immediate resolution I would advise you to ring Customer Support to have a quick review of your problem.

I will have to test this on a basic ubuntu machine. Likely to install it via CUPS. I will post more when I have done the testing.

Regards,
