Yes. I had a chat with him yesterday. We shared some ideas. This might take a while now if development is required. We will see. Keep us posted.

Re: invalid accounting ID - linux

Hi,

yes. this is triage and the first step. Please get back to him and state that you are able to install the print driver and configure but the problem is while printing the print driver seems not to be called in and instead it prints using only CUPS,

You need further guidance. Also if you can asking him for a ticket number that would be great.

How To Install Drivers and Utilities for UNIX and Linux Operating Systems (1278)

Install Drivers and Utilities for UNIX and Linux Operating Systems

User Level IT Professional / Administrator

  Help

Xerox Services for UNIX Systems is a two part installation process. It requires the installation of a Xerox Services for UNIX Systems code package and a printer support package. The Xerox Services for UNIX Systems code package must be installed before installing the printer support package.

NOTE: You must have root or superuser privileges to perform the UNIX print driver installation on your computer.

NOTE: To load Linux print drivers, perform the following procedures but select Linux as the operating system. Select Xerox Services for Linux Systems driver or the Linux CUPS Printing Package. You can also use the CUPS driver included in the Linux package.

  1. At the printer, do the following:
    1. Verify that both the TCP/IP protocol and the proper connector are enabled.
    2. On the Printer Control panel, for the IP Address, do one of the following:
      • Allow the printer to set up a DHCP address.
      • Enter the IP Address manually.
    3. Print the Configuration Report and keep it for reference.
  2. At your computer, do the following:
    1. Go to www.xerox.com/office/CQ8700drivers or www.xerox.com/office/CQ8900drivers as appropriate, and select your printer model.
    2. From the Operating System menu, select [UNIX], and then click on [Go].
    3. Select the [Xerox Services for UNIX Systems] package for the correct operating system. Install this package before installing the printer support package. To begin downloading, click on the [Start] button.
    4. Repeat steps a and b, and then click on the printer support package for use with the Xerox Services for UNIX Systems package that you selected earlier. To begin downloading, click on the [Start] button.
    5. In the notes below the driver package that you selected, click on the [Installation Guide] link, and then follow the installation instructions.

NOTE: For details about UNIX and Linux drivers, refer to the System Administrator Guide for your printer model.

Re: invalid accounting ID - linux

Let me know the case number. If you are in Europe you need to open one. It will go through a group of people to get escalated.

That should be the prefered route.
