Re: macOS Ventura (13.1) print settings don't save

Same problem! Just updated to Ventura Friday and now I have that issue. This is a huge problem as I need it to save last used to save a ton of time during the day. Hope a fix is coming soon!!!! So frustrating everytime I try to do an OS update there is some kind of issue. I have waited to update in hopes that issues were addressed. Didn't even do the last OS because didn't want to have the hassle.

I tried changing the defaults via CUPS, but unfortunately for me that had no effect. Thanks for the tip though.

Re: macOS Ventura (13.1) print settings don't save

I have the same issue.  I've had luck by scrolling down to the printer options section of the print dialogue and changing settings there.  They have to reset for each print, but it works for me, with one caveat - it seems that if you send a job while another is still processing, your settings won't get sent.  So you have to wait.  Yes, it's a real pain.

Re: macOS Ventura (13.1) print settings don't save

You can try setting defaults within CUPS (http://localhost:631). Click on printers header and if you get the disabled message, copy what’s within the quotes, open Terminal, paste and hit Enter. Refresh the CUPS warning page and you should see a listing of all installed printers.

Click on the link for the correct printer. On the next screen, click the administration drop down and use Set Default Options. You can navigate subcategories to change what you need. You will need to apply changes at the bottom of each category before moving on to the next. The first time you apply changes it will prompt you for a username and password. This is the user and password of your Mac.

Doing this *should* at least help with any repetitive changes being done to the Xerox Features section of the Mac print window.

Re: macOS Ventura (13.1) print settings don't save

I talked to Apple tech support on chat - the support person told me they are aware of the issue in Ventura, but they don't know when or if fix will be available... so I would assume only reverting back to Monterey is the only way currently. Not really sure why they were changing something that wasn't broken and actually looked better

Re: macOS Ventura (13.1) print settings don't save

Thanks for your reply. I tried, but it did not change anything. No matter what preset I use (custom defined or Last Used Settings) it just decides to use random values in the Xerox Features menu. Unfortunately it seems like it will be Apple's fault :(

Re: macOS Ventura (13.1) print settings don't save

Hello Dusset,

I would recommend uninstalling and reinstalling with the latest Xerox print driver. Note: that if you have a Fiery, you may need the driver form the EFI Fiery page.

Thanks,

macOS Ventura (13.1) print settings don't save

Product Name: PrimeLink C9065/C9070 Printer
Operating System: Other – specify OS in post

After updating to macOS Ventura and also updating the Xerox driver to 5.11.2, my print settings get reset after every print. It doesn't matter if I choose under Presets: Last Used Settings or make my own preset - it no longer remembers the Tray used and any of the Xerox Features (Paper, 2-Sided Printing, Image Options or any of the Advanced settings). This really increases the time it takes for us to print.

Is this an issue on Apple's side and a bug in Ventura or an issue with the Xerox driver? Did anyone else experience this and perhaps solve it, please?
