You need a PS kit to print, not to scan. If you have the Postscript kit installed on the printer then you simply install the Xerxo driver for the printer and you can print.
Scan requires no such thing, but you need to explain what you are scanning to, because setting up a Mac to scan can be SMB or FTP, and you also can do email, which requires SMTP info.
