What specifically does Paper Blocking Prebention do? What function does it serve? What is the determining factor to switch it “on” or “off”? NOT Zhoe do you switch it on or off, but WHY do you switch it on or off.

I have also seen this function on my Workcenter 6515 and can it be found when selecting from menu screen "Device, then Support" and is a selectable item either on or off, however I cannot find any reference to it either online or within the manual.  I would like to know precisely what this item achieves and which part of the printer does it affect.
