printing with only 1 tray

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

we just got a brand new Xerox 5335 WorkCentre with 5 trays. Every thing seems fine coz we installed it successfully the problem is that this p'cular printer won't print if some trays are empty. As a it support i tried to disable some trays so that users can print from only one tray but i am still failing. is there a way i can disbalble all trays and leave one tray for printing?
