Re: "Required resources" message when trying to print some Word documents

That's the problem.  The document is already in portrait layout.

I just figured out what the problem is, though.  Under Page Setup in Word 2010, the paper source was set to go to Tray 1, which is the legal form size.  For the 2nd document that I had trouble with, it's set to go to the Bypass Tray.  I switched both to "Automatically select", and was able to print without a problem or intervention.  So apparently these settings override the "automatically select" tray default settings for the printer.  I also assume then the settings are also saved in the Word document, too.  I saved both after making the change, re-opened them and was able to print both again without a problem.

"Required resources" message when trying to print some Word documents

Product Name: Other - specify product in post
We've got a few Xerox Workcentre 5755 printers here in the office. One of our users is having trouble printing some Word documents that were sent to her by two different companies. The documents are both a simple 8.5" x 11" one-page document in portrait mode. When sent to the printer, the printer says the required resources are missing. The printer is asking for 8.5x11 paper in landscape format from tray 1. However, trays 3 and 4 are loaded with 8.5x11 paper, but the orientation is portrait. I didn't think the printer would care how it's actually loaded in the printer, as long as it knows the layout. The printer is set up to choose the tray automatically. The only way to print the document is to remove the legal paper from tray 1 and load the 8.5x11 paper in it, which happens to be in a landscape layout. The user is using 32-bit Windows XP, but the problem has been duplicated on a 64 bit Windows 7 PC printing to a different printer. Thanks for any help.
