I have an 8400DP and I am not sure how to turn off color from the Linux driver. Also, I can't figure out how to turn down color usage for sure; I noticed that gray areas are being filled in by multi-color dots; does anyone know how get it to print just black dots in gray areas (all K in the CMYK from black and the color ink sticks for only the CMY)?
Solved! Go to Solution.
I should make it clear that I have a Xerox Phaser 8400DP.
Hi, vlsjekn!

I do not see "color correction" in printer properties.
Hi again!
You'll only have this option if you're using the PS driver and not the PCL driver.

I noticed a "Black and White" option under "TekColor Correction" under "PostScript Setup" under "Printer Setup" on the front panel.
hi, vlsjekn!
Thats great :)

The "solution" just prints black & white, so you do need to print in 2 passes and only use it in a graphics-software-separated K channel pass, with the CMY pass containing all the CMY, but this actually gives you the chance to just print CMK in 2 passes with the Phaser, and use something cheaper than the yellow qubes for the Phaser for the Y - in a 3rd pass.
