Hi,
No, if you cannot see online the printer you cannot.
Every toner cartridge have a chip that increment it's usage, so if you move toner from one printer to another, you will see the same level of toner on each printer. The printer will not treat an used toner as new.
If the drum unit (imaging unit) is exposed to the light, the drums will still working but you will have print quality issues (dark bands).

I have a used Phaser 7100 and wanted to see how much toner is left in each cartridge.
Can I find this out without having to go online and enter the printer's ip address with the printer connected to the net ?
I have another working 7100 in my home and as a last resort can I install the toner from the used 7100 to get a toner level ? or will the printer in my home treat the used toner cartridge as a new one ?
1 last question ... I know the imaging units should not be exposed to light for more than 5 minutes. But how can I tell if a imaging unit has been exposed to light longer than 5 minutes ? Or will the imaging unit just stop working ?
Thanks !
Bobby
