Re: trying to setup mac book pro to use networked 7132 - can't install driver

Hello,

I suppose that the one you downloaded was the GenericPPD, therefore very likely what you got were PPD files which are text files.

To install a printer you can:

  1. On the client computer, open Print & Fax preferences.
  2. Click the Add button (+) and click IP.
  3. From the Protocol pop-up menu, choose “LPD.”
  4. In the Address field, enter the printer DNS name or IP address.
  5. In the Queue field, enter the queue name. You can use "lp"
  6. From the Print Using pop-up menu, choose the printer, and browse to the location where you have the PPD file.
  7.  Click Add.

trying to setup mac book pro to use networked 7132 - can't install driver

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

hi there,

I'm having problems getting my mac book pro (OSX 10.6.7) to work with a Work Centre 7132 over the network.

I have tried to download the driver from

http://www.support.xerox.com/support/workcentre-7132/downloads/engb.html?operatingSystem=macosx

When I extract the ZIP file however there doesn't seem to be anything to install the driver? There just seems to be a text file. I was expecting a .dmg file or similar (see screenshot below).dom_mac.jpg

Can anyone help me to get this driver installed?

Cheers,

Al
