Re: upgrading printer/scanner drivers on mac

A new driver doesn't rely on an old one in any way.

Reload the Mac and download the new driver and install it like normal.

Hi truegrip,

Thank you for using the Support Forum. The driver that you download from the Xerox.com support page for your machine is a complete driver and does not rely on data from the original driver.  If you have additional questions post or please consider contacting your support centre for further assistance.

Thanks,

upgrading printer/scanner drivers on mac

I am considering erasing the hard drive on my iMac and doing a clean install of a newer operating system.  Probably El Capitan.  When I download and install an updated printer/scanner driver after upgrading my operating system, will the new driver work on it's own or does it rely on any files or data from my original driver which is now erased?
