Re: versant 80 black & grey colors

Jump to solution

Really, we solved the problem following these steps:

1. We set up the pantone code number for grey color (we used the mix of the four main colors in order to get the right tone of grey instead of using the black color degradation.

2. We customized this presentation folder (Custom tray settings) adjusting the image transfer for -4 (side 1). Side 2 was unprinted.

3. We adjusted the fuser temperature 1 C.

After some trials, we got the right tone and also the output was good on the edge of the paper. We used 14 pt coated for both sides (13 x 19 in)

It was a great team work!

Normally the machine should be checked to see if any HFSI's are due. Sometimes the problem can be the type of media you are using. Does the defect occur on different types and weights? Can you post an example of the problem?

versant 80 black & grey colors

Jump to solution
Product Name: Xerox Versant 80 Press

I have problems with outputs that have black & grey colors. The grey is not solid and sometimes you see a black shadow on the edge of the paper. The technician went to my business and replaced some drums, and also change the settings for image transfer edge (47%). It improved a little bit, but not 100%. He created a customize print and save it. So, I did some tests, but I am afraid that my client accept the product.

The recomendation was to play o change those settings until I get the right color image. How do I know that the problem is related to some settings or is a hardware problem?
