I concur with fiery on this one. To make it even more clear, here's picture of what he means:
Note the correct position, it is in the down position.

Looks like a transfer problem. Open the left door and check below the fuser you will see the transfer belt. There are two metal arms with black plastic on the end of them. One in the rear side and one in the front. They need to be in the proper position, both either up or down.
That is either a bad IBT transfer belt or a bad fuser.
Check the consumables for errors, failing that make certain the paper tray was not set for a much heavier weight stock (Causes the fuser to get way too hot and melts the toner to itself)
Last step remove the IBT(R2) and Fuser (Left side door) to see if physically damaged. If neither try checking the drum (R1) but I think that less likely.
