Re: xerox and PDFs

I know this is a super old thread, but I had a similar problem, I figured out the issue. I was saving it as an adobe PDF 5, when I resaved it as a PDF 4 it was able to print.

Re: xerox and PDFs

not sure what the firmware is as i'm not on her pc and i clicked around the printers admin panel trying to see if it was there and didn't see it.

she was using foxit reader.

The tech had me reinstall with the most recent PS driver (although I had already done that) and changed the settings from RAW to LPR.

Also he suggested printing from the server but the pdf was so big it just got hung up in there.

Re: xerox and PDFs

Hi Caroliha,

You can also try to print your PDF document with another free PDF Reader, like Foxit Reader for example : http://foxitsoftware.com/downloads/

Re: xerox and PDFs

all those things have been done already.

i vnc'ed into her pc and contrary to what she said, the print as image option is there :-//

and yes, it's every pdf.

on the phone with tech support (conferenced called with the person who uses this xerox) this time, thank goodness. but we aren;t making any leeway

Re: xerox and PDFs

is it with every pdf or just that particular one??

what you can try =

open print properties (not printing preferences)

go to advanced , untick "advanced printing features" below

go to port , then click the port and click configure port , change from raw to lpr mode with queue name lp

try to use the ps driver if you are using pcl :)

ps: the print as image MUST be there in acrobat reader

xerox and PDFs

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

Our print shop has a W5655PT that doesn't seem to like pdfs. It just stops in the middle of the print job. even if you try to reprint starting at the area the pdf stopped at it won't print.

I've tried:

changing the pdf format from pdf/a to /x and back.

recreating the pdf.

compressing the pdf.

udpating the global print driver.

checked the pdf/a settings in the Xerox control panel/admin area

i asked the print artist who uses this xerox to try printing as an image but she claims her adobe doesn't have that option.

I have called Xerox. They really are on you ro tbuy their product but nothing but tumbleweeds when you call for help. I've called twice now, been given an escalation number and have been told i'd receive a call back within 1 business day. Nothing.

We need this printer working, so if anyone has any suggestions...please?
