i try to use some user authentication in my xerox workcentre 7242 and created a user to do my tests. then i change the options in the scurity to login not necessary and the printer keep asking me for user ID whrn i try to do a copy or scan job. How do i remove the need to an account/user ID?

Depends if you are dealing with Authentication ala Auditron/XSA. Which would require logins from anything checked in
Properties > Accounting > Accounting Configuration
Then you have the plai old Authentication in Properties > Security > Authentication Configuration > Next choose your test account and then Edit and check these:
