Product Name: AltaLink C8030 / C8035 / C8045 / C8055 / C8070 Color Multifunction Printer
Operating System: Windows 10 x64

Hi everyone,

I hope someone can help me. Im setting up a new office and my client wants to use RFID card to unlocked the MFP. In checking the guide but I'm confused what authentication method will I use ? Will it be SMART CARDS or Convienence Authentication?

My client uses MiFare RFID

Re: Card authentication

Hi gukweto,

Thank you for using the Support Forum. Please take a look at the Common Access Card for Xerox® VersaLink® Printers System Configuration Guide.  I think the document will address your questions and help you with the setup. Please consider contacting your support centre for further assistance.

Thanks,

Smart card authentication is a two-step login process that uses a smart card. The smart card stores a user's public key credentials and a personal identification number (PIN), which acts as the secret key to authenticate the user to the smart card.
