Re: Card-based user identification and phaser 7800

Hi Andrea,

in the end of your email, I got the impression that you are not decided which printer model to purchase. You did mention the Ph7800, so I can only assume you have something in mind.

If this is 1 device only to accomodate a office, with business like operation, I would concider a multifunction device.

Regarding the print management solution, there are different ways to achieve what you are asking, but surely, having a print management solution would deliver the control and reporting you are looking for. Using a card reader would benefit accessibility to end-users, but this is not the only way to authenticate at devices.

In the case of a Ph7800, I believe you would need additional hardware to complement the USB card reader.

Regarding the solution, I would recommend having a look at Xerox Workplace Solution. This can be delivered at Cloud or On permises flavours, depending on your preferences and infrastructure availability. Also this solution has very attractive commercial position.

Card-based user identification and phaser 7800

Product Name: Phaser 7800
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.11 - El Capitan

hello there,
first time here, first question.
So I'm looking to buy a printer for a workspace where many people will be able to print from one machine,
therefor I'm looking forward to know who is printing and how much, is Card-based user identification a solution for the cost friendly phaser 7800 ? or another model is better ?
let me know,
Best
Andrea
