High fan usage does not appear to have been addressed by the update. It runs on high after a job for 15+ minutes but does eventually quiet down.
A new firmware update has been released and posted to the website resolving the network issue. I cannot speak for the other problem.
I put in a ticket with Xerox about this same issue on our 8870DN printers. They've pulled the update as of this afternoon.
Hi,
I just update to the January 8, 2014 firmware release - SER63
OS 11.26 / PS 4.63.0 / Net 43.62.01.15.2014 for the ColorQube 8570DN (2012 mfg date)
I have two problems with this:
1) After update the printer attempts to connect to ip 13.253.158.29 (Xerox) using TCP/25002. My firewall blocks this and shows constant attempts. Opening the port causes a permanent and significant increase in connections from this printer.
My question is what is this? I have looked throughout the configuration settings to see if something is reporting back to Xerox, but to no avail. There is no reason for the constant connection attempts that I can see or in reality accept.
2) After update the printer fan remains running on high after a (1) print job and will not quiet down without pressing the sleep button on the printer. Warmup mode = Intelligent Ready, Fast Resume = off.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Bruce
