This is an updated post as of 3/11/20:
Our organization is using Equitrac Express with many Xerox copier models for billing and accounting purposes using Xerox Network Accounting. Two models being the Fuji Xerox based models which are the D95 and the 5330/35 copiers. On both the D95 and 5330/35, a database of user IDs is pushed to the copier and we store the user IDs on the copier and the User IDs are being verified on the copier. The system administrator told me that the Equitrac is using JBA (Job Based Accounting), and that the User ID database is stored locally on devices using Xerox Network Accounting. When this validation is working, users can print, copy, and scan to email and my system administrator can see the copier IDs being pulled, which helps automate the billing process. What we find is that sometimes this process starts working for a short time, and then stops validating. We then need to turn validation off for anyone to be able to print, copy, or scan to email.
I checked the documentation that came with Equitrac, and it does mention one important note for the SNMP protocol. If we are selecting the SNMP V1/V2 that both the server and the device must have the community names for both Set and Get with the words added: public(for Set) and private(for Get) respectively. These fields are otherwise blank by default and noticed that these two fields are blank on both the 5330/35 and the D95 in our fleet. Could this be the reason that the copier may not be getting the database of User IDs, and therefore cannot verify the User IDs?
I really hope to find answer for this problem.
