Rowan, Joe,
2.77 will also work. Both drivers have been tested with 75xx and Mac10.8.
Version 2.79 fixes bypass tray printing issue on 10.6 and 10.7, and also a duplex problem on cover pages.
Please be aware if you have other printers or driver, you might not want to do a reset to the printer system. I would follow the steps on the document I post previously. These have been tested on 10.x. But agreed. The previous driver will have to be removed.
One more thing, if you have automatic updates on the Mac, it might happen that it will pick the driver as being an older version. Which is true, but do not accept the update. Based on my test yesterday, the automatic updates did not pick it up because their version of the driver is slighly behind.
Before installing a new driver, you need to do some deleting.
Uninstall the current printer install first, then do the folowing:
open terminal and type: cd /var/db/receipts/
Then you can type: ls to see the files in the list, but you don’t need to.
Type sudo rm com.xerox.*
You will be prompted for the admin password.
Then run the installer and setup the printer as normal.
I typically use the 2.77 driver, but the 2.79 may work as well.
2.77 driver , don't worry about the printer model listed, it is a universal driver
Rowan,
first of all sorry for the delay on my reply, since I promissed earlier.
I had a look at the problem I have experienced the same behaviour. I could spend some time trying to explain what is causing it but I think its better to jump to the solution.... or to be more correct... workaround.
So, in general you will need to install driver version 2.79. You can download it from this link.
Something to keep in mind before you start installing... you will need to delete the previous driver and do a clean on the system. Please follow instruction on this document, if you require help. Its enought to go as far as page 2.
Other notes:
I hope this works for you.
Also, I just printed the configuration report... Where do I find the firmware?
It is a MAC 10.8.5
I don't know what a firmware level is.
I'm not sure what type of accounting was set up. Tracking is enabled on Xerox Workcentre for Copies & Prints.
Hi, sure :(
please provide us with the driver version on the MAC, the firmware level on the 75xx and if possible what type of accouning you set-up on the printer (Local Accounting or Xerox Standard Accounting).
No that did not help. It just told me to call Xerox Support.. who I've called several times and they have not been able to help.
