Re: Mac OS X 10.6.6 driver problem with accounting on WorkCentre 7232

Hello,

I believe this thread is the same as the one in the Printing category. Let´s use just one and centralize information. If I am mistaken let me know and I will remove this post.

Re: Mac OS X 10.6.6 driver problem with accounting on WorkCentre 7232

The only options I have for colour are:

- AutomaticColor

- Black and White

- Color adjustments

This is under Xerox Features/Color Options/Color Correction.

In my mind Automatic Color means use the colours in the document.

Is there any combination you would like me to try?

Re: Mac OS X 10.6.6 driver problem with accounting on WorkCentre 7232

Hi Ion,

I just read your post again and I couldn't help but notice that you said you send the color jobs set to 'auto' and the B&W jobs are set to B&W.  The B&W jobs are successful while the color jobs are not.  Have you, by any chance, tried to send a color job and not selecting auto, but selecting color?  It's a long shot, but I'm wondering if that 'auto' setting is screwing the accounting up.

Mac OS X 10.6.6 driver problem with accounting on WorkCentre 7232

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

I am having problems with my xerox driver on my mac which is sending the user id on my mac to the printer instead of the user id I have configured in the accounting dialog window.

In my office, the WorkCentre 7232 printer has only two accounts set up:

- "tieronecolour". This account is enabled for colour printing.

- "tierone". This account allows only B&W printing.

On my print dialog, when I set the colour to automatic and the user to 'tieronecolour' I can't print. The printer displays an error status of 016-757 (I later found out this means "Jobs Do Not Print, Invalid User, Account is Not Registered").

The job status shows the owner of the job as 'imoraru' which is my user id on my mac.

That explains the error. There is no user "imoraru" configured on the printer.

The driver sends my mac user id to the printer instead of the user id configured in the accounting dialog window.

However, when I set the colour to B&W and the user to 'tierone' everything is fine and I can print my document. On the printer display, the job status shows the owner of the job as 'tierone'.

Is this a bug in the driver? Or I am doing something wrong? I have tried this many times with no success.

The driver I am using is the Xerox_MacOSX_10.5_10.6_driver_v2.13.0.540.dmg.

I have attached a picture with my settings also.

I would appreciate any help.

Thanks,

Ion
