Remote User - Equitrac Office

Product Name: Xerox AltaLink B8045 / B8055 / B8065 / B8075 / B8090 Multifunction Printer
Operating System: Not Applicable

Hello,

We´re facing a problem with Altalink B8055 and Equitrac Office reports.

The machine works fine with the software but some printing jobs appear in the Equitrac Report without showing the user name.

We have more Xerox models in the customer site and they work fine and the reports are ok too.

Any idea about how to solve this?

It isn't an Equitrac issue, the user doesn't get sent when using a RAW port in Windows, it does when sending via LPR. So this should be fixed as simply as changing the port on the users driver.

Control Panel > Devices and Printers

Right-click the printer and go to Printer Properties > Ports > Configure Port

Match theirs to my highlighted portions here and send a job, the username should replace Remote-User in the jobs

The only issue that I see that might be an issue is if the drivers for the device are controlled by the network / Print Server. Then you will have to make sure that the options for this printer is setup correct on the server.

Once the drivers are updated on the network / Print Server, best to make sure you remove the driver from the users machine and re-install, this makes sure that the configuration is correct.

Never ever feel bad about adding to a thread.

I answer everything I can 5 days a week as a side project, I am not an expert at everything, and Equitrac is way out of my wheel house. Feel free to correct me, add to threads and do whatever.

This is a forum for dealing with problems with Xerox devices in public, not one-on-one, not as a paid service, if you can see it, you can respond to it.

Just don't be mean (to anyone on the forum or in the real world in general really) , And all will be well.

If people read your comments and make this face, they complain to the admins and it becomes a whole thing
