It has to do with the lease/contract, not the settings.
Typically meter reads automagically work when you get the printer connected to the edge server
Supplies never do (Xerox would be in trouble if they started sending supplies to people all willy nilly ;-)
So you get it set up and communicating, then call Xerox and tell them (Supplies line) that you want to setup ASM or Auto Replenish. They will get your billing info, ask for an inventory of what you currently have on hand and then after about 48 hours, the printer should show it as enabled.
Only older devices made by FujiXerox even show the Meters vs supplies thing, new devices just show whether or not they can reach the edge server.
I am working with two copiers; one a D95 and the other 5335. I have both of these copiers communicating with the Xerox Remote Server. The 5335 shows that both the Meter Assistant and Supply Assistant are enabled, however, the D95 shows that the meter assistant is disabled and the Supply assistant is enabled. My question is, do both the assistants get enabled when they first registar with Xerox? If it depends on the account, is there a way to enable them from Xerox? I do have other 5335 copiers that has the Supply Assistant enabled, but not the Meter assistant. I am really curious as to why the one 5335 have both of these assistants enabled. All of the copiers have their software up to date. I discovered this when some would not even communicate with the Xerox server because the SHA-1 certificate was expired. Updating the software corrected this to a SHA-2 certificate. Thank You for your reply.
