I am working on baselining my network and we have multiple xerox printers. I am using the SNMP sysDescr output to grab versions but I am having trouble finding documentation that explains what each firmware does exactly. For the most part the output is self explanatory, for instance, System Software refers to the firmware release as a package from Xerox. However, there are a few others that I am having hard time finding any information on what they do, namely, MCB, IOT, ESS, and Engine.
Is there documentation where I can gain a better understanding of how firmware is installed and works on these devices or could someone briefly explain? Thanks!
