System User showing up in Accounting Reports?

Hi,  the Default System Account is not for Xerox engineers <smirk>.  It's where the pages get tallied whenever someone enters in an invalid User Code.  It has to record the page for the Error Notice that prints out but there is no valid User Code entered so it goes onto the system account.  I also see photocopies being tallied against it when Network Accounting is enabled and the codes have not been uploaded yet or when the copier is in a weird state.  Usually a hard reset fixes that but, if not, Xerox Support needs to send a tech onsite to reload the software.

Hey sorry if I didnt specify enough, I ment the support, if you call in and get helped step by step on the phone, this will not work cause the support team does not have the technician login.

Or they do have it, they are just not allowed to use it.

not true :-)

technicians can always login with a special key combination, they dont need the admin account :-)

this allows customer to change the admin account for internal security, so the technician doesnt need to know the admin password

changing this means xerox support will not be able to help the customers with simple settings such as changing tray settings, network settings etc, if they dont have the correct login.

Hey!

If an engineer is on site they do use the engineer login, which could be the reason.

Otherwise someone else got the information to the admin-login.

I would guess that an engineer has been on site.

One of my clients has been using a Xerox Color 550 setup with Standard Accounting for over year.  They do a monthly copy count report.  For the last two months, their montly reports have shown copies made by an account called System User with no corresponding ID code.  As far as I can tell, no changes have been made to their setup or to any client computers.  I have verified that all users are using their correct Accounting codes.  Where are these copies coming from?
