Re: Toner usage % in job accounting records

Maybe the toner usage is not a percentage, but just a index where 10 is max and 0 is null?

I printed other 300 pages, total consumption of magenta is 0.335684 , instead the counter decreased from 11% to 8%

Toner usage % in job accounting records

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

I sent a page of an office document (not much color) to my new phaser 7800, then i went to see the toner consumption in job accounting records:

c: 0.006335%

m: 0.007576%

y: 0.005279%

k: 0.000733%

I said, ok it's cheap enough to be printed, and I sent 2000 copies.

Result? Toner are empty

If I go to see the toner consumption in job accounting records, i see numbers like 13% cyan => instead the 80% of the cartride has been used, so I have some questions:

  1. The numbers in the job accounting are percentage of usage of a cartridge, or just raw data that is meaningless without further calculation? In that case, what is the correlation?
  2. The bundled toners are not full and that's why it's empty?
  3. If I use the UAT, i see irrealistic costs, like $32000 for this job - probably the data is misinterpretated
