Re: Unable to change admin password on WorkCentre 6515

I was able to reset it over the weekend. Aparently there was a "failure" message sitting in the jobs queue that I cleared... then I went back in and tried to reset the password and it let me do it. This information was not found in any support document or forum and had to troubleshoot it trying several different methods.

Unable to change admin password on WorkCentre 6515

Product Name: WorkCentre 6515
Operating System: macOS 11 - Big Sur

After logging into the admin account (default password is serial#), the printer gives the following message "The admin account is using the factory default password. For security, it should be set to a strong, unique value. This will also update SNMP Community Name. See the System Administrator Guide for details." Then there are two buttons, Log out and Change Password. --> When you tap change password it asks for a new value... no matter how simole or complex, it will not accept a new password.... forcing you to logout.

What is the problem and how do I fix this confounded issue?
