Re: Unable to change the username under the SNMPv3 settings

Unfortunately the guide you've pointed to is for reseting the password for the admin/printer login credentials (unrelated to the ask/issue). SNMPv3 credentials are not the same as admin/printer login credentials.

Altalinks allow us to change the username to reflect an SNMPv3 service accountAltalinks allow us to change the username to reflect an SNMPv3 service account

Versalinks are lacking the option to change the username for SNMPv3Versalinks are lacking the option to change the username for SNMPv3

-------------------------------------------
The issue still present in 2023: You cannot change the username for SNMPv3 credentials uder SNMPv3 settings on Versalinks (Altalinks however do have this option, see attached images)
-I should note that to change the encryption type/mode (MD5→SHA1, DES→AES) on Versalinks you just need to click on it to get a pop up, but the username does not have this option.

Hello sdimauro,

I searched the Knowledgebase and found these steps on how to change the System Admin Password. This video from our YouTube Channel may also help you.

Thanks,

Unable to change the username under the SNMPv3 settings

Product Name: VersaLink C405 Color Multifunction Printer
Operating System: Windows 10 x64

Trying to enable SNMPv3 on our office Versalink C405DN. When I go into the System Administrator Settings - under the user name : its lists Xadmin.

I can edit the encryption & authentication password fields, but not the username under the system administrator account. Any recommendations or is that username hard-coded?

Thanks,
