I'm glad to hear that installing the latest system software for your Xerox Workcentre helped you. I'll take a moment to let you know why the only software that you were able to find was from 2016.
The system software that is posted on the Xerox Support site is referred to as General Release software. General Release software comes out infrequently.
The system software that gabiene sent you a link to is known as a SPAR software release. Those releases come out more frequently, in-between General Releases, and they add functionality or address issues that were brought up to the Xerox engineering team over time. The links to SPAR releases are publicly accessible but not indexed anywhere that is publicly accessible.
Products that are still supported, but are not currently sold as new, will still continue to get SPAR updates for many years but they may not see a new general release. Since the AltaLink product line launched in 2017 as the successor to the Workcentre products, that is why the software that you were able to find was from 2016.
Long response short... If you need to obtain the latest available system software for a Xerox MFP inquire via this forum or contact your local Xerox service company.
Hello,
Our company recently migrated all users to a PIV certificate and our Workcentre 7225 printer no longer lets us log in through the CAC reader. I upgraded the firmware to the latest available version, but this did not help. The printer is still in the network and printing from the network still functions fine it just fails to authenticate users based off their direct CAC login.
