Re: Using the Hardware Access List on a 4510

why not configure your firewall to use port 515 and 9100 ? those are the print ports (windows)

That way if the machine needs a reset, your security keeps on working...

Using the Hardware Access List on a 4510

Product Name: Other - specify product in post
I have been asked to limit access on a Phaser 4510 to a small number of computers. The access needs to be transparent to the user (no PIN entry, etc.). If I configure the Hardware Access List using known good host names, the printer TCP log indicates that it is rejecting the connection from the computer. If I populate the HAL using IP addresses they can print, but the computers are using DHCP and we don't use IP reservations, so I would prefer to use host names. I have tried using partial and FQDNs and I have configured DNS on the printer, but I suspect I am missing something. Any ideas? Thanks
