We have a Xerox work center 7845. It has worked for about 2 months and just this week it now kicks an error "Accounting out of Memory" "Device is offline" and we can't seem to get by it. The message is displayed on the user interface panel. No one can print. This WC also has the Papercut module installed and was working until this week. We are not using accounting, at least not on/through the work center. The network is a Microsoft Active Directory network. Computers are both Windows 7 pc's and MacBooks. The vendor has not seen this error before.
Has anyone else run into this? How did you fix it?
Thank you.
Tech support suggested that I flash the firmware but attempts to do that get me a
"Error processing upload request."
It is at software version: 072.040.004.09100
Hi Southerner,
Thank you for using the Support Forum. Please make sure you have followed the installation instructions for the firmware and that you have chosen the correct download for your machine model. If you continue to have issues please contact support again.
Cheryl,
I have been in contact with first and second level support. They sent me the file to use. Attempts to upload both the patch and the firmware result in this error:
Hi Southerner,
Please contact them again for a solution. I am unable to see what the error message says.
The error message is "Error processing upload request." That is the same error on both the patch and the main file. The error on the UI (Accounting out of memory) is so insistant that I can not get the option to update locally as the error just keeps popping up and clearing the error still brings it back in about 5 seconds. That is why I am trying to do it remotely via the admin web page for the 7845.
Hello Southerner. What was the final resolution to this problem?
I a having the same issue. I have received no help from Xerox support and I could not upload the file as well. Please help!

there is also a tool out , jbaclient.exe, with that tool you can clear out the accounting
its a bug on certain firmwares, so if you cleared it, be sure to update your machine
