Re: What is the Security Risk if Wired Ethernet and WiFi Dongle are connected to 2 different Network

Hello SadAdmin,

I see no one has responded to this post yet. So, at this point I would recommend contacting your local Xerox Support Department to speak with a Product Specialist for more assistance. Please call 1-800-821-2797 or 1-800-835-6100.

What is the Security Risk if Wired Ethernet and WiFi Dongle are connected to 2 different Networks

Product Name: WorkCentre 6515
Operating System: Not Specified

Hi,

I have a security question regarding the WorkCentre 6515 printer if it is connected via wire to one network and via Wi-Fi to another. How robust is the isolation of the printer to prevent access from one network to the other by going through the printer itself? The capability exists to connect the printer in this manner, and is tempting as a means to provide printing for say guests via a public Wi-Fi. But how good is the isolation between networks within the printer?

No idea if anyone has chased such a question before, tried numerous searches and read a number of security documents by Xerox but nothing was even close.

Thanks in advance.
