Re: What is the best way to set XSA using MS Active Directory?

well, the NG is for printers only, while the MF edition its an upgrade to integrate with copiers...

every user in papercut/ad you can define a pin

if you enable papercut mf with a xerox , you can login with that pin or username and password.

then also copys are going to be tracked

a nice feature is also follow me system, every clients has only 1 printer in control panel, you print , job stays in queue, depending of wich device you login, there will the print be printed :)

you cant buy the papercut mf editon online, needs to be done by a reseller... so if you are interested?

Re: What is the best way to set XSA using MS Active Directory?

xsa is indeed kinda stupid with so many devices :) lots of work

instead you can use the feature "remotely on the network" , so you can access devices with your username and password

disadantage = takes a while before you can use the machine because of 2 prompts

instead you can use the software "xerox secure access" , this comes with a badge reader...

the software is "free" but you must by the badge reader..., they you can synchronize the accounts with ldap and use a pin instead of user name and password

if you want more advanced and do accounting also , with or without badge readers i recommend Papercut MF, awesome application that integrates with xerox secure access

( you need the optional JBA kit be enabled on the machine, option you need to buy)

we have sold it lots of times and are verry happy with it

What is the best way to set XSA using MS Active Directory?

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

Hi,

We have more than 150 Xerox 5150, 5645, 5638 on our network, working OK.

Currently, users have to enter a code to access the copiers.

We would like to have all users enter the Windows username and password (MS Active diretcory)  instead of a code.  What is the best way to do it?

Thanks.

Best regards,

Viet Truong
