cannot print from Mac to C70, even with Default User ID code entered

We have print job accounting working fine on 2 Macs. On a third that was upgraded to OS 10.13.4 and the latest C70 driver, the accounting prompt continues to appear (and no printing) despite a code being entered. For the other Macs, here is all I need to set to get it to work (but does not work for the 3rd computer):

Accounting System: Xerox Standard Accounting or Auditron

Accounting Prompt: Always Prompt

Mask User ID, Mask Account ID, Mask Billing ID: all unchecked

Default User ID/Passcode: the code is entered into the user ID text field.

No other settings are entered. When I try to print, I am prompted. The User ID shows as filled in, but the OK button is grayed out. Any idea how to get this to work?

Re: cannot print from Mac to C70, even with Default User ID code entered

Since the Mac is clearly the problem it would imply corruption of its print files since the same driver works for everyone else on the same operating system in the same office with the same printer.

So do a complete and total removal of the driver, which isn't straight forward, but is not overly difficult either (just takes a while).

o   Close any open printer queues in the Dock

o   Close all open applications

o   Print & Fax - remove Xerox printer objects (using the "-" button under the list of printers)

o   Applications folder - remove Xerox folder (if present)

o   Library/Applications Support - remove Xerox folder

o   Library/ColorSync/Profiles - remove XRX* or other Xerox files if present

o   Library/Image Capture/TWAIN Data Sources - remove Xerox printer packages

o   Library/Printers - remove Xerox folder

o   Library/Printers/PPDs/Contents/Resources - delete Xerox folders and files. Older OS's have multiple language subfolders, each of which may contain Xerox PPDs. If this is the case, the easiest thing to do is search the entire set of folders for the Xerox files, and delete en masse.

o   Library/Receipts - remove any of the following: pde***.pkg, xpd***.pkg, ICC*, ICP*, ICC_Profiles, SSScan/Xerox (folder)

o   Users/[username]/Library/Preferences/ - remove all com.xerox.* files

o   Note: If your library folder is hidden, type this in a TERMINAL window (located in Utilities folder): > Chflags nohidden Library <enter>

o   Also in Users/[username]/Library/Preferences/ - look for any com.apple.print.custompresets.forprinter.(yourXeroxPrinterName).plist files and delete them

o   Users/[username]/Library/Caches/ - remove all XRXSetup* files (if present)

o   Also in TERMINAL:

                > cd /var/db/receipts/ <enter>

                > ls <enter> - look to see if there are any com.xerox.* files. If so, delete with:

                > sudo rm com.xerox.* <enter> (will prompt for admin password)

- Empty the MAC’s trash. If any files are being held, reboot and empty again.

-          Reboot the Mac

Install the driver freshly obtained and run from Xerox.com, if it did not work, you probably skipped the reboots

The problem Mac has a new driver, and older drivers are not available. That is the difference.

Re: cannot print from Mac to C70, even with Default User ID code entered

The problem Mac has a new driver,

And the new driver works juts fine assuming you are not printing from Safari or a 32 bit app

and older drivers are not available.

Apple distributes old drivers with the OS, they should be updating Xerox's to a 4.X driver this month when they drop 32 bit support in the OS, but the 3.81.1 driver is currently available, so you just remove the 4.X Xerox driver and install Apples 3.81.1 from them here

That is the difference.

The driver should only cause the following issue, it drops 32 bit support, so any 32 bit App will not have a Xerox Features within it, it will have Printer Features instead. And f that is the case, you need to load up any 64bit app and set any settings you want to use as a preset, then in the 32 bit app (Or Safari) it will work when you select the preset before printing.

Of course the 3.X will die with 32 bit, which was expected to be this month, but the current information they are releasing (Today and yesterday) may mean an extension. Anyway, here is this
