Re: delete harddrive

Also:

Erase Customer data, via Machine status > Tools > Device settings > General

1.JPG

Scroll to the bottom and select Erase Customer Data

2.JPG

This is a function for removing all customer identifiable information from the device.

  • All jobs destinations info (device address book)
  • All user accounting information (accounting database)
  • All user authentication information (user database)
  • All jobs on the device (stored in mailboxes, delayed fax send, stored reprint jobs, held jobs etc.)
  • System logs which may capture user info
  • Reset specific NVM which capture user info
  • Device network configuration
  • It reloads and encrypts the NC and IOT machine’s software.

As for the differences between Erase all and Altboot, the Altboot does all the above and also:

  • Wipe partitions
  • Reset all NVM and configuration values
  • Reset all service settings to defaults
  • Reset all tray settings to defaults
  • Remove patches

Re: delete harddrive

Hi,

You can do a Firmware update with FORCED_UPGRADE and DISABLE _DATA_BACKUP, or you can take out the HDD from SBC PWB (located behind the machine on the right hand where the network cable is pluged). The SBC module is attached to machine with three thumb screws: one in upper position, one in lower and one at the handle.

delete harddrive

Product Name: Other - specify product in post
Operating System: Not Applicable

Hello forum,

we have a xerox 7835 in our company. This was used to scan and print. Now we're wanting to give to good will without taking the risk of finding our documents an harddrive anywhere.

Is it possible to delete the harddrive? If it's nessecary to get the hard drive out of the machine, where is the hard drive?

Thanks a lot,

Hendrik
