Re: how to use TWN4 card readers.

Hello @zemanjin,

Probably you already solved this but here it's a solution:

"To use a USB connected card reader, in combination with Xerox Convenience Authentication, certain Xerox devices require the installation of a USB Card Reader Plug-in. To use the supported USB Card Readers listed below, the plug-in cardreader_sig.jar, included in the zip file, Cardreader_plugin_with_signature.zip, must be installed.

Supported USB Card Readers include:

Elatec TWN4 MultiTech -P, Elatec TWN4 LEGIC NFC-P, Elatec TWN4 MultiTech -PI Proximity, Elatec TWN3 HID Prox, Elatec TWN3 Multi ISO Proximity, Elatec TWN3 Legic, Elatec TWN3 Multi 125, Elatec TWN Inditag, Elatec TWN iClass, OMNIKEY HID 5427, ID Tech Mini-Mag 2, RF Ideas RDR-6081-AKU and RDR-6281-AKU, RF Ideas Mag Stripe Reader, YSoft 125Khz ASK FSK, YSoft Legic Advant, MagTek Mag Stripe, Honeywell 3800, Motorola DS9208, Motorola DS457.

IMPORTANT: This procedure assumes you have already downloaded the required zip file for the required product, from the download files available at the Xerox download site. For additional information see the Related Content.

  1. Extract the cardreader_sig.jar file from the zip file to a convenient location on your computer.
  2. Access the printer's Embedded Web Server (Web Interface) and login as System Administrator. For additional information see the Related Content.
  3. Select System.
  4. Select Plug-in Settings.
  5. Slide Plug-in Feature to the right to the checked position.
  6. Select Restart Now when prompted.
  7. When the system is back online, return to the Plug-In Settings page.
    1. Access the printer's Embedded Web Server (Web Interface) and login as System Administrator. For additional information see the Related Content.
    2. Select System.
    3. Select Plug-in Settings.
  8. Select Add.
  9. Browse to the location of the cardreader_sig.jar file you previously extracted from the .zip file.
  10. Select OK.
  11. Select Close.
  12. Reboot the printer to activate the plug-in.
  13. When the system is back online, return to the Plug-In Settings page.
    1. Access the printer's Embedded Web Server (Web Interface) and login as System Administrator. For additional information see the Related Content.
    2. Select System.
    3. Select Plug-in Settings.
  14. Ensure the status for the plug-in Xerox USB Car Reader (CR 3.0.04 or later) is "Activated".
  15. Select Close. The plug-in is now ready for use."
