Re: log4j2 security bug

Hi MagooJonky,

Thank you for using the Support Forum. Please see our security site for bulletins about "bugs", viruses, or other security threats.  For the log4j2 that was recently identified see this security bulletin that was updated on December 15.  Your model of printer is not yet on the list which mean evaluation on your product has not been completed yet.  The bulletin will continue to be updated as evaluations are completed.  Please consider contacting your support centre for further assistance.

Thanks,

log4j2 security bug

Product Name: WorkCentre 7830/7835/7845/7855
Operating System: Not Specified

I saw in some documentation that Xerox uses Java for certain printers. Do you use log4j2 for them and are you succeptable to the flaw in the system: https://www.randori.com/blog/cve-2021-44228/

If so, what logs do you make from fax and mail to print?

We have our printers connected to our internal network and would not want them to be a way into our office for attackers.
