Re: workcentre 7665 not prompting for accounting credentials driver 3.113.0_1840

What is clear is that something changed in Xerox driver as it pertains to Mac OS or maybe visa versa.

Definitely Vice-versa, your OS changed to an unsupported (by anyone) beta release. Current version is 10.12.3 is public, 10.12.4 is beta 8. You are literally running an OS that was released to find what is broken in it.

I know this is a Xerox problem becasue my VM/Win-10 can print just fine to the Xerox printer so it has to be the Xerox Mac driver.....

So it works from Windows and that makes it a Xerox problem, and you justify this by having it fail from at least 3 drivers from Xerox, as well as the one direct from Apple, tested by Apple and distributed by Apple to work with their own OS? You really need to think about where the fault in this scenario may be.

Re: workcentre 7665 not prompting for accounting credentials driver 3.113.0_1840

I have loaded 4 different drivers from Xerox and none will work with the Mac OS 10.12.4 (16E192b) now running on my MacBook Pro Intel Core i7 2.7Gz. Have install every version you stated would work, they didn't and I've configured Cups like it is suppose to be for always prompt standard accounting.

What is clear is that something changed in Xerox driver as it pertains to Mac OS or maybe visa versa.

Calling Xerox will cost money and so far my confidence in Xerox drivers is very low so will just not print from my Mac to Xerox. I know this is a Xerox problem becasue my VM/Win-10 can print just fine to the Xerox printer so it has to be the Xerox Mac driver.....

You will probably always need to use CUPS, that is an Apple issue, they are the ones who did away with being able to set Printing preferences, not Xerox.

As for the still not working, call Xerox, I can't replicate and nobody else has reported the issue.

I did have to go into CUPs and change the default to always prompt for standard accounting though. The Accounting part of the print dialogue is greyed out in this driver version.

I loaded 3.108 and received the same error message with undefined; JOB: STACK is blank.

Re: workcentre 7665 not prompting for accounting credentials driver 3.113.0_1840

Anything older will not have these symptoms unless the 3.113 has not been fully removed.

So if it has, you can easily use 3.81.1 form Apple or 3.108 , or 3.76 , at least they worked on all my machines and all the other people posting on these forums having  this issue so far.

If you can't make it work on yours you will need to call in to Xerox and get official help with the matter.

Re: workcentre 7665 not prompting for accounting credentials driver 3.113.0_1840

I'm pretty sure the last word on your print would have been STACK, and it would have been printed at the top left of the page exactly as seen here

Capture.GIF

And it will print that no matter the source or number of pages the document should have been.

The only resolution is to downgrade, this driver is either 100% broken, or works fine dependant on machine family.

I have thoroughly tested myself on the 51XX,53XXand 71XX machines, it prints the error and nothing else no matter how you go about installing it. Xerox knows this, it has been sparred (sent to engineering to be fixed) and it has not been pulled from Xerox.com (No idea why)

Re: workcentre 7665 not prompting for accounting credentials driver 3.113.0_1840

ok, so I deleted all the Xerox files as instructed. I loaded 3.77 and it behaved the same way so now I have deleted this version and about to version 2.112 and see if it works. before loading 2.112 I looked at CUPs and it did not have the xerox machine there so it has been cleared out with the deletions.  If you have any further suggestions on which roll back version will work please send me message.

Re: workcentre 7665 not prompting for accounting credentials driver 3.113.0_1840

I have not deleted the 3.113 driver yet. I ran 2 more print test with safari and the text editor. safai does not call up the accounting dialogue and prints an error 'job deleted due to invalid accounting IDs'. Outlook and text editor does call the prompt and I enter the # and it prints but it has same error reported before - ERROR = undefined, OFFENDING ERROR = JOB.

Before I delete 3.113 do you have any additional suggestions before rolling back?
