Re: XWC Scan to Onedrive - EIP User

Alright,
Yes please pass along the question to the app team.

The current work-around I can find is to disable the following print protocols:
- Raw TCP/IP Print
- Mopria
- AirPrint

This allows the user only to print through the XWC application (mobile) or driver (pc). I'm not sure how this will work when the user has MacOS though, I need to try that as well.

Re: XWC Scan to Onedrive - EIP User

The identity of the user of the Connect for OneDrive app is controlled by the app and not the XWC solution.  The app currently uses "EIP User" for all of its jobs, even if a user is logged into the printer via XWC or some other interface (network authentication, smartcard authentication, etc).  If the printer is restricted to only allow authenticated users to print, then the jobs coming from the app will be blocked.  I have passed along your issue to the App team so that they might consider modifying the App behavior in the future to use the identify of the logged on user.

I appologive for not having a more agreeable suggestion to work around this issue.

Re: XWC Scan to Onedrive - EIP User

Yes, it is locked in the UI, and the user permission roles are locked aswell (When users can print is set to never). I can't change it to always like you suggest, since then any user can connect to the printer directly via IP and bypass the XWC system.

I might be missing something, but we've implemented XWC to make sure no one can print directly to the printer without authentication, so by allowing non-logged-in users to always be able to print (like suggested), kind of defeats the purpose of XWC?
Am I missing a setting or something perhaps?

Re: XWC Scan to Onedrive - EIP User

Is the printer locked and requires authentication to access the UI?  If yes, I would recommend checking: Properties > Login/Permissions/Accounting > User Permissions > User Permission Roles (Edit).  Check the non-logged in user Edit link.  Has someone modified the "When Users Can Print" setting for Color or Black & White?  Is it set to "Never"?  If yes, try changing it to "Always".

XWC Scan to Onedrive - EIP User

Hi,

We're getting a mysterious error when using any SSO application togeather with XWC. Each time we print from an application (such as Scan to Onedrive, from the printer itself), the print isn't printed and instead we get an error page stating that the "EIP User" doesn't have permissions to print, print certain job types, nor have permission to print from a certain tray.

Does anyone know what might cause this error? The machine (C8135) is freshly installed, and nothing apart from the machine activation has been done (of course with the required setting in the XWC admin portal). Printing using the XWC driver (via the client) from any PC etc. works just fine.
