this issue will be fixed with the release of the new App Gallery version 5.6 coming out on thursday November 5th.

Error happens also if you only configure a single "&" as password any other character works.
From the customer response understood that scan job is failing when &(amp) character is used for SMB password for templates created only through scan app on the appstore. Template created through device address book works fine with &(amp) character. So, issue is with scan app and not with C405 device.
Xerox scan app from app gallery is in use for that and will prompt the attached error if you click on SCAN.
