Enabling / installing apps inside the Xerox app gallery

HI thomas000moore, if you are a developer you may be able to become a Xerox partner and create your own apps. To become a Xerox partner and get the apps SDK, go to www.xerox.com/personalize and select the link under new to the PAB Program.

@fg301, you do not need to be in front of the deivce to install any app. All app installs can be done remotely provided the device is on your network and can reach the internet. The recommend method is to use the device discovery method from the App Gallery and have App Gallery push the apps to your devices. 

Using the recommended method, you log into App Gallery, Find the App, search for the devices on your network, then push the app to all of your devices that have been discovered. https://www.support.xerox.com/en-us/article/en/2115247.html

Alternatatively, you can use the Remote Controll Panel from the Web UI by connecting to the device through a web browser, open the remote access UI, then access the App Gallery from the remote UI, and install the app.

Then you have the method I discussed in my previous post to download the weblet and install it remotely from the Web UI using the submit job function or send it to the printers using LPR. This assumes that your device is set to recieve firmware updates via the print command.

Hi @fg301, is there a reason you can't use the Devies section of the App Gallery and push the app out to all of your devices from the App Gallery itself? 

If the Device section does not work for you, you may be able to download the Touchless Access App as an encryped weblet, change .weblet to .pcl, then either use the webpage to submit the weblet or LPR the weblet to your devices. The steps my vary by product type and it will most likely need a setting to be changed via the Web UI prior to being able to accept the weblet.

Hello,

is possible to install Applications that are available inside the xerox app gallery remotely through the printers web management gui? or can this only be done physically infront of the printer?

My end goal is to to install the Xerox® Touchless Access App on all of our printers across all our buildings and im a bit concerned this may not be possible to complete through a web-browser.
