What Happened to the Dropbox App

I was attempting to load the Dropbox app on to two new MFPs and I noticed it was no longer in the App Gallery.  What happened to the app?

We are currently experiencing some connection issues with our Print and Scan for Dropbox app. The app has been temporarily removed from the App Gallery. 

 

We are currently working on a solution for the issue and will post an update when the apps are available again.

What's the status on the Dropbox app?  This issue has been ongoing & somewhat intermittent for a long time, however we've been unable to use this feature at ALL for roughly six weeks at this point.  Is the app even coming back?  Please advise.

Hello. 

 

Thank you for the message. 

 

There will be an App side release going to Production this week that will resolve the issue that is occurring when connecting to Dropbox.  In addition, device SPAR and Patch release are also being made available.  The full fix requires both the SPAR and app updates.
 
Once the App release is live in production, the App Gallery App will begin working again, if the device has the SPAR/Patch release installed.  If you are using an App Studio app, the app will need to uninstalled from the device, edited in App Studio (Just go into edit mode for the app and re-save it.  You don't need to actually make any changes to the Studio App.) and then re-installed on the device.  After this the apps will pass the user directly to the Dropbox oAuth screen. 
 
When we post the updates to production this week, we will also republish the Print and Scan for Dropbox App in the Gallery.

Hello.  

 

The issue with the Print from/Scan to Dropbox Apps has been resolved. 
 
There are SPAR releases that need to be installed on the device.  The SPARs/Patches are located here:  www.xerox.com/DropboxFix 
 
Once you have installed the SPAR/Patch, Print and Scan for Dropbox app should start working again with no additional intervention.

The SPAR release for the 605/615 devices has been slightly delayed. It should be available near mid-March. 

The page that customers link to is being updated with this information as well.

Hello there,

 

On my connect key 5955 the spar has been installed but I actually am experiencing an issue with drop box. It says software is out of date, but the SPAR was installed last week.

 

When you click on the link for the SPAR now, it says "Attention all, this release is temporarily being pulled as we need to complete the licensing process.� I will inform you once it is ok to send.�" This seems to appear on connectkey machines only.

 

With the SPAR installed, I get the error using dropbox app,  see photos below. Is there an update on this issue? Thanks.

The firmware you have is the latest version, the version they pulled was 073.091.008.05210

It wasn't pulled because it was broken, just a license issue.

 

As for the dropbox app, as the installation instructions note, you need to upgrade the firmware (which you did) then upgrade/install dropbox from the App Gallery before it will work.

 

I just now did this on the 5955 running that exact firmware and it worked without issue.
