Unable to save a custom app as .weblet (new App Studio 09/2018)?

Hello Team,

I created a new scanning app with the latest App Studio, but did not find an option to save the app as a .weblet file for later manual install as it was possible before.

Did I just overlook this option or has it really been removed?

If it has been removed - how should one install an app on a machine/at a location that has no internet access?

It would be important to have that "offline install" option for customized connectkey apps.

Hello, Ivo.

Thank you for the message. 
 
Unfortunately, the feature to save apps did not make it into the 5.0 release.  We do still have the options to edit and copy any new apps created within App Gallery.
 
We have had a couple other users asking about this feature as well.  I will share this additional information (customers without internet connections) with the program team for consideration.

Hello team,
will the devs consider the option to save an app as a .weblet file?
I recently was at a customer site where the install of the Xerox App Studio "plugin/extension" is not allowed due to company policy. Not even the admins can push custom apps to the machines.
I guess this would not be the only customer with restrictions and saving to USB drive and deploying from it could be very helpfull.

Hello, Ivo. 

Yes, this feature (ability to save a weblet) will be added in one of our upcoming releases (planned between now and the end of the year). 

You're correct.  We had several customers ask for the feature to be reinstated, so we've added it back.  

I hope that this is helpful information.  The feature should be available again soon.
